Overview:
First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic business who are looking to recruit a Groundsperson on a permanent basis due to growth located at their York depot.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Preparation and repair of the racetrack, Paddock area, all lawn areas, and environs. throughout the year to the best possible standard achievable.
• Maintenance of all racecourse machinery and vehicles, to the best possible standard.
• Operation of all racecourse machinery and vehicles, to ensure the best results from each implement or vehicle.
• Ensure that all machinery and vehicles are operated in the safest possible method, through training if required.
• Providing a safe working environment for yourself, fellow members of staff and all visitors to the racecourse, as compulsory in the racecourses health and safety policy.
• Providing an excellent race day experience for racegoers, owners, trainers and jockeys.
• Assistance when required to ensure the track redevelopment project is brought to a successful conclusion.
• Mowing and strimming of all grass areas surrounding paddock area and stands
• Edging of lawns
• Fertilising of the lawns
• Irrigation of the lawns.
• The general upkeep of all paddock areas (litter and pruning ect.)
• Raceday operations.
• Providing assistance in the year round usage of the racecourse.
• Any other duties that the racecourse management require to carry out its daily operations.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Groundswork experience preferred but not essential
• Hands on individuals are welcome
• An excellent attitute to \"get the job done\"
