Job description

Supporting the business and our divisional offices, our Head Office functions cover all departments from our Executive Board through to our support functions such as Group Design and Technical, HR, Health and Safety, IT, Sales and Marketing, Commercial, Procurement, Group Finance, Corporate Affairs, as well as Legal and Company Secretariat. We also have a specialised function – Barratt Partnerships.

While the work varies from team to team, our key requirements don’t: you must be well organised, helpful and resourceful, and able to use your initiative. You’ll understand that what you do is important, and impacts on your team, the department, and the wider business. You will be proactive and able to use your initiative to get work done.

We are offering a fantastic opportunity for someone to join the support function of the Group Finance team based in the Group Support Centre on a fixed term contract. This role will report to the Head of Forecasting, Planning and Analysis. As a Group Finance Analyst, you will create an active partnership with both operations and management. You will be expected to provide support and insightful analysis to add value and drive business decisions, deliver information in a clear manner at an appropriate level using a good mix of analytical, commercial and communication skills.

You will:
  • Support, where necessary, FP&A and wider Group Finance team on work relating to proposed combination announced on the 7th of February for Redrow
  • Conduct financial assessments and modelling to support the transaction Integration Team
  • Produce of management information for a range of internal customers, adding insightful analysis to drive business decision making
  • Provide both regular and ad-hoc reporting and analysis to highlight trends and drive performance
  • Prepare and analyse of data for City presentations and results announcements;
  • Drive use of existing management information within the business and the efficiency of production
  • Develop reporting in line with market trends and business needs
  • To champion a culture of process improvement and assist with the execution of change programmes
  • Deliver excellent service to internal customers both inside and outside the finance function
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

Request

To be successful in the role, we are looking for:
  • ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of working in the FP&A team or similar
  • Strong financial modelling skills and the ability to update and maintain complex financial models in Excel
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication at all levels, particularly senior stakeholders
  • Ideally previous experience of Mergers and Acquisitions
  • Highly analytical and have an ability to draw insight from large and complex data sets
  • Proven understanding of the interaction of Profit and Loss accounts to Balance Sheets and cash flow/funding
  • Comfortable challenging and being challenged
  • Exceptional creative problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders
  • Self-confidence, decisive, resilience and ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment Independent and able to operate autonomously
