Job description

About the Role 

An exciting opportunity now exists to join the Group finance Leadership team at C&C Group. The successful applicant will be a technically astute qualified accountant with relevant post qualified experience. You will be responsible for the financial control team, the external reporting and consolidation teams. You will be responsible for the completion of the Group’s annual and interim report and statutory accounts for subsidiary entities.  You will be a key point of contact for the external auditors. This is a critical team in which the successful applicant will gain significant experience with potential future progression opportunities. 

Key Accountabilities 

  • Responsible for ensuring the financial integrity of the information reported to the group.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining a high level of effective controls, given the scale and continued growth of the organisation.
  • To lead the financial control teams across C&C group and work with the Group FD to enhance the control environment.
  • Overall responsibility for the delivery of effective controllership, providing technical support to local Controllers and the shared service centre teams.
  • Leverage technology where appropriate to drive efficiency and effectiveness in the control environment.
  • Lead the external reporting, technical accounting and statutory processes across C&C Group including production of the Group’s annual report and related external reporting requirements.
  • Lead the group reporting team to deliver a high quality and robust consolidation process, identifying and delivering on opportunities to simplify and automate.
  • Ownership of Group Balance Sheet including designing and delivering an enhanced group review and assurance process
  • Drive development and implementation of external reporting, based on the overall business strategy and operating model.
  • Lead on the interim and year-end reporting processes, external audit and preparation of Annual Report for C&C. Further develops the financial statement disclosures to benchmark to FTSE 250 standards.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the C&C business and develop a network of key relationships within the Group to facilitate an open and transparent culture with regard to key judgemental accounting and balance sheet positions.
  • Work with colleagues across tax, treasury, FP&A and business partnering on group process and control issues.

About you 

  • Qualified chartered accountant, preferably attained in a Big 4 firm, with relevant post qualification experience. PLC experience would be a distinct advantage;
  • Technically astute with a detailed up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and IFRS;
  • Strong analytical ability and excellent numerical skills, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Ability to lead a team.
  • Proven experience and ability to work to tight deadlines with a drive for results;
  • Flexible self-starter with a high level of initiative and a team player with strong communication skills;
  • Excellent IT skills and full proficiency in Microsoft Office (in particular, an advanced Excel capability).
