We are supporting an NHS organisation based in London to appoint a Group Head of Corporate Governance. The post will be for an initial interim period of 3 months, with a competitive hourly rate, depending on level of experience.
The post holder will manage the Corporate Governance teams, monitoring performance of team members and ensuring delivery.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Oversee delivery by the team of support to the Committees of the Boards, which meet as Committees-in-Common (Quality, People, Remuneration) and Audit Committees which meet separately;
- Management of the organisation’s Council of Governors and its Committees;
- Work with the Governance team and the Communications team to develop a new membership strategy;
- Oversee delivery of FOI function across the Group and undertake internal reviews and oversee reporting on compliance;
- Assist the Group Chief Corporate Affairs Officer in developing the governance arrangements for the hospital group (governance manual, SOs and SFIs, compliance reporting);
- Oversee performance and reporting on declarations of interest;
- Lead in the development of a new Group-wide framework for policies across the Group;
- Providing support to the Boards of the organisation (agendas, minutes, planning, Board development);
- Assist Group Chief Corporate Affairs Officer in undertaking and implementing consultation on restructuring the two Corporate Governance teams into a single Group-wide function.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Must have experience working within the NHS at a senior level;
- Extensive experience as a Corporate Governance professional/ senior Trust Secretary;
- Excellent leadership and management skills, demonstrating through cross site working;
- Able to communicate effectively with the Board, external agencies, and stakeholders;
- Strong report writing skills
