In this role, you'll play a crucial part in sourcing and securing general service solutions across various departments including Warehousing and Distribution, HR, R&D, and CAPEX. Your mission will be to ensure the best possible terms, price, quality, delivery, and payment for the services required by budget holders across the business.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide optimal purchasing solutions.
- Analyze spend data to identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Negotiate terms and conditions for supply agreements.
- Manage existing vendor relationships and recommend changes as necessary.
- Provide market intelligence to support business objectives.
- Maintain forecasting, tracking, and reporting of financial and non-financial metrics.
- Lead projects to deliver savings and improve purchasing processes.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Previous experience in a Buyer role, preferably in Indirect Service Procurement.
- Experience with tendering processes, including e-tendering.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across multiple locations and levels of management.
- Ability to manage complex projects and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of another European language is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel, primarily within Europe.
Background/Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, preferably in transportation or a related field.
- Comfortable transitioning from smaller organizations to a corporate environment.
Package:
- Competitive salary, up to £45,000, based on experience.
