AWE is currently recruiting for a Group Leader Operations/Production Controls to play an integral and highly influential part of the leadership of Technology Centre Management Team to manage and maintain a Single Order Book to enable delivery within an agreed capacity that is both effective and cost efficient.
Location - Reading/Basingstoke
Package - £57,160-£90,340 dependant on skills and experience

Key Accountabilities:
- Agree a programme of work with programme customers and enterprise PMO, and ensure that priorities are agreed and that customers/stakeholders are kept in informed of progress and achievement.
- Lead the Operations Control Team to manage and control the order book, all materials, plans and schedules, and financial budgets and reports.
- Ensure that a Single Order Book is maintained which is resourced, costed and deliverable.
- Establishment of budgets to meet the running of the Tech Centre and to maintain investment in the capability.
- Engaging, motivating, leading coaching and developing leaders and team members and holding them to account.
- Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player.
- Additional accountabilities for this job profile may be defined and appointed through the Chief Engineer Management Arrangements, with appointees listed within the Company Design Authorities and Technical Authorities, as held in the company management system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effective scheduling and maintaining of a Single Order Book and positively respond to changing circumstances with agility.
- Responsible for the management of all operational control resources to maximise utilisation and efficiency of business operations.
- Providing appropriate governance to the Tech Centre Head on performance and financial measurement and compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Control and acceptance management of tasking, including estimating and stakeholder management.
- Managing the production of an agreed supplementary schedule aligned to programmes.
- Preparing of financial budgeting submissions and long term plans
- Production, accuracy and maintenance of Basis of Estimates, Unit Production Cost (UPC) and Tech Centre budgets.
- EVM, utilisation and efficiency performance monitoring and reporting.
- Reviewing capacity and capability for current and future demand utilising a forecast demand model.
- Undertakes materials management, including procurement and logistics to support production.
- Risk management, business continuity and business resilience planning.
- Promote and sponsor operational excellence and drive all actions aimed at continuous process improvement.
- Works effectively with others and building required relationships and interfaces to support delivery of the Programme.
- The development and maintenance of strong relationships with US and other international partners.
- Responsible for identifying, defining and solving complex management problems in a dynamic environment.
