GRP Composites Finisher - Permanent - Oxfordshire
Responsible For:
Finishing GRP mouldings for boat construction, including trimming, preparation, polishing, gel coat repairs, and assembly of moulded components.
As a key member of our finishing team, you will contribute to the high-quality finishing and repair of gel coat surfaces and GRP composite mouldings.
Working collaboratively in a team environment, your role is crucial in producing top-notch components for our busy boat manufacturing line.
Main Duties:

• Identify and rectify defects requiring rework.


• Perform repairs on gel coat surfaces to eliminate imperfections/joint lines.


• Fair surfaces to achieve desired quality.


• Polish gel coat surfaces for a superior finish.


• Trim GRP components using air saws, routers, and diamond cutting discs when necessary.


• Sand and finish cut edges using abrasive papers.


• Uphold and promote high standards of workmanship.


• Assist in other areas of the manufacturing process as directed by the Team Leader.


• Contribute to the training of personnel, including new production operatives.


• Maintain a tidy workstation and working area through basic housekeeping duties.


• Be accountable for your work, ensuring correct use of PPE.


• Uphold company HSE standards and report any shortfalls.


• Perform tasks and duties as required by senior management.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous experience in finishing GRP or paint finishes/detailing.


• Attention to detail and a methodical approach.


• Strong team player with the ability to work independently when necessary.


• Capable of working to deadlines in a time-conscious manner.


• Preferred: Previous experience in the Marine industry or similar high-quality-driven industry.

You will report to the Composite Team Leader organizationally.
