Harbour Facilities Assistant (HFA)
(Temporary part-time positions)
HFA 1 – to start in May until September 2024
HFA 2 – to start in June until August 2024
Required to assist the Harbour Facilities Co-ordinators in the day to day running of our busy Harbour Office. Your aim will be to provide the highest level of customer service to harbour users at all times.
This role involves a variety of manual handling tasks, working outside, collecting fishing permit fees from anglers on the pier, operation of the Yar swing bridge and the operation of the fuel berth (including administering fuel).
In this diverse role you will be operating tills, handling cash, carrying out a variety of administrative tasks, as well as undertaking cleaning and tidying duties.
A rota system is in operation covering 7 days a week including unsocial hours/weekends and Bank Holidays (shift lengths and weekly hours vary throughout the season). Flexibility within the rota is absolutely essential.
You will be an excellent communicator able to demonstrate exceptional customer service, matched by similar organisational, telephone and IT skills. Due to the nature of this role you will also need to be physically fit and active.
The Harbour Facilities Manager requires someone who is punctual, reliable, hardworking, friendly and very approachable.
