Job description

Why Work for us: Employee benefits (southampton.gov.uk)
We have an exciting opportunity for a Public Involvement and Community Engagement (PICE) Lead in the new Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) at Southampton City Council. A vital principle of Southampton’s HDRC is to work with members of the public and local communities to ensure that we understand and address the issues that are their priority, and that the work is shaped with and by them. As PICE Lead, you will work with our partners to build on approaches for engagement and involvement that are already developed in the city and ensure Southampton’s diverse communities are represented across the HDRC.

Educated to post-graduate level, or with equivalent experience, you will have a good understanding of approaches to Public Involvement in research. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to translate complex, scientific language, and concepts into easily understood materials. As an effective facilitator, you will involve members of the public and local communities to co-produce HDRC outputs.
