Job description

Bournemouth and Poole College now have an interesting new opening for a HE & Access Administrator to join the team on a part time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £20,705 pro rata, per annum.

About the role:

As the HE & Access Administrator, you will ensure the delivery of an outstanding and specialist administration service to cross college colleagues involved with higher level courses and provision. This role is integral to the smooth running of

the student journey from point of recruitment through to achievement.

Responsibilities as our HE & Access Administrator will include:

Ensure an effective internal and external customer triage service is delivered and act as the point of contact on behalf of HE related enquiries, including taking telephone calls, signposting as appropriate, writing letters, taking minutes dealing with messages and bringing forward and progressing matters for management attention.

  • Organise and prepare for scheduled tasks at critical points in the year to enable the growth, the compliance, delivery and achievement of the HE provision.
  • Be aware and proficient with the varying software platforms and portals both centralized, internal and external to enable accurate information regarding our students, their applications, enrolments, finances, qualification registration, grade submission and achievement.
  • Facilitate and monitor the enquiry, application, interview and outcome offer processes for HE candidates through our internal systems and/or UCAS application portal as required.
  • Liaise with HE academic colleagues and partnership universities to support the process of academic and review board meetings, organizing, attending and taking comprehensive minutes for action points as necessary.
  • Ensure that compliant arrangements are in place for the submission of HE student assignments.
  • Facilitate Exam Board arrangements involving partnership university and other Exam Boards including invigilation and relevant ‘Exceptional Circumstances’ information and compliance within our practices to accommodate as necessary with support from relevant internal depts.
  • Liaise with the HE academic staff and administer the information supplied for any Exam Board Resubmission and Re-sit process as required.
  • Co-ordinate and organise HE events and appointments in curriculum areas eg awards evenings, student voice forums and events, interviews, visits, room bookings.
  • Contribute to cross college HE/Access events eg Enrolment, Freshers Fair, Open Events within the college and externally.

As our HE & Access Administrator, you’ll ideally have:

  • Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience of working in an office environment
  • Experience of delivering high levels of customer satisfaction within the work environment
  • Experience of planning and organising key meetings
  • Attendance at college events – open evenings including outside of normal working hours
