Head Butler (live-in)

Head Butler, Northamptonshire (accommodation provided)

Large private estate in Northamptonshire requires experienced Head Butler to lead and develop the hospitality team.

Duties to include:

• Receiving guests and visitors
• Formal service of food and fine wines, knowledge of etiquette and protocol
• Lead and oversee the hospitality and houeskeeping teams
• Liaise with chef and family on menus and wine pairings
• Maintain detailed inventories
• Clean and maintain back of house areas and service equipment
• Care of silver, china and service sets
• Maintain hospitality staff database, ensuring all health and safety paperwork is compliant
• Oversee budget for hospitality department

Candidates must have extensive experience working in UHNW households, especially English country estates with large shoots.  Must be very experienced in managing a team of staff, mentoring junior staff members and training all staff.  Formal butler skills are essential.  Must have a full and clean driving licence.

Accommodation comprises a cottage on the estate

Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with weekend working from time to time
