We are looking for a Head Chef at The Birdham Bembridge
Wight Pubs are a small umbrella of pubs on the Isle of Wight. These pubs are The Chequers Inn, The White Lion and The Birdham. We are currently looking for this position at The Birdham however we may be able to offer a position at the other two locations.
Located in the coastal village of Bembridge, The Birdham is an old Edwardian building that has been renovated into a stunning pub and hotel. The Birdham is rich with variety as it not only caters for the day-to-day gastropub trade, but also has a jam-packed diary of bespoke functions and weddings. This position will be perfect a creative chef, who loves a new challenge daily.
Previous experience is required here, we need you to have a sound understanding of how a professional kitchen works and be able to jump in with the support of the team around you.
This is a full-time position, Salary Starting at 37k
Head Chef responsibilities:
- You’ll be responsible for managing all day to day kitchen related activities for the property.
- You inspire your team to create memorable experiences for all our guests.
- You hold yourself and others to a high level of professionalism and integrity, making key decisions based on what is best for the guest, and for the people who make it operate successfully from day to day.
- Create and produce high quality food with a constant eye on the highest quality standards, presentation, and flavour, with an eye on industry trends and neighbourhood demands.
- Ensure statutory compliance in all food related areas.
- You will keep well-organised storerooms and inventories that allow for smooth running kitchens.
- Coach, train, and develop your brigade, ensuring service standards are consistent each and every day.
- Properly and adequately train your team while focusing on maintaining a high team morale.
- You will consistently deliver food margins in line with budget and will have a thorough understanding of how to cost dishes and manage margins.
