About the Position

For this new Head of Accounting Services opportunity in the Northwest you will be responsible for delivering centralised Accounting Services, namely Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) to the Group and governance over the SAP system that manages these transactions.

You will lead a team of 20 members within Group Finance covering AP, AR and Financial Process and Governance. The role will ensure the critical cashflows of the business are managed in accordance with the groups policies and procedures and that the overall control framework for managing the receipt of revenue and payment for goods and services is controlled, efficient and provides consistency and reliability to internal and external customers. This role will need to "own" the billing process end to end.

The role will also be critical to providing governance over changes to the key master data and functionality of the SAP Financial Module. To ensure all changes proposed maintain the integrity of the accounting system and do not compromise the control environment as the business continues its exciting growth journey.

Candidate Profile

For this Head of Accounting Services opportunity in the Northwest, successful candidates must have previous experience of running an Accounting Services team for several years and have a track record of strong process and governance improvements

Whilst a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) would be ideal, this is not essential and demonstrated experience in the role is the critical element

Experience of SAP, or a similar ERP system will be important and to have experience of building new processes and functionality to meet the needs of the business

Must be an experienced leader of a similar sized central Accounting Services team (c 20+) and including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

A demonstrated ability to lead and drive change and with relevant continuous improvement experience (e.g. Six-Sigma) would be ideal, with a focus on adding real value to a business

Must possess excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to express opinions clearly, and to manage internal and external customers in a professional and confident manner
