Head of Assets

Your new company
Your new company is a housing association based in Liverpool who are recruiting for a Head of Assets on a permanent basis.
- The Asset team holds responsibility as Landlord for investment, repairs and maintenance of the business's homes and communal spaces.
- The team headed up by the Manager - Assets (Repairs & Maintenance) holds responsibility for the delivery of the business's responsive, gas and electrical repairs services.
- The team headed up by the Manager - Assets (Facilities Management) holds responsibility for non-compliance related facilities management (FM) services and estate service activities.
- This involves the provision of technical and quality assurance related surveys to enable the highest levels of customer service to be achieved.

Your new role
Key role priorities
- This role holds accountability for ensuring the most effective delivery of all Asset Services in line with Asset Strategy, enabling our business to deliver high standards and services to meet the expectations of customers and to support all external client opportunities as they arise.
- This includes setting the asset maintenance strategy, policies and standards for our business, balancing whole life cost and risk whilst ensuring mandatory health & safety, regulatory and security standards are met, and any non-compliance is escalated appropriately.
- The role is also accountable for the repairs and maintenance budget and for ensuring that all performance targets are met or exceeded and for the utilisation of business intelligence to pro-actively identify trends, risks or opportunities for service improvement.

Education & Qualifications
Degree/HND or considerable relevant professional experience (E)
Membership of Relevant Professional Body (e.g. CIH, RICS, IWFM, CIOB) (E)
Experience
Managing multi-million pound budgets and cash flows (E)
Managing operational teams to deliver high performance (E)
Writing policies and applying changes in legislation to key policies, processes and procedures (E)
Working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on strategic asset management goals (E)
Working with contractors, monitoring and attaining high performance (E)
Use of relevant systems including assets, housing management and procurement (E)
Accomplished at delivering performance improvement in a complex environment (D)
Skills, knowledge & ability
Understanding of cash forecasting and budgetary control (E)
Good IT, project, people and budget management skills (E)
Ability to review operational productivity and implement corrective methods to increase performance (E)
Strong self-awareness and clear presentation when providing updates to all levels of our business and external partners (E)
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills at all levels, including relationship building and maintenance with a range of internal and external stakeholders (E)
Ability to analyse business critical data to identify issues, successes and trends (E)
Ability to contribute to determining strategic direction for the function (D)
