Empowering Learning are supporting a secondary school based in Northamptonshire, who are seeking to appoint a Head of Computer Science from April 2024 or sooner (Dependent on availability).
Their Computer Science department has a highly ambitious curriculum, utilising technologies such as Raspberry Pi to teach the core principles of coding at KS3. The Key Stage 3 curriculum combines a highly effective programming curriculum, alongside Computer Science theory and Digital Media (Adobe Photoshop and Web Design). Students are then able to specialise in OCR GCSE Computer Science or the Cambridge National in Creative iMedia, allowing them to choose a pathway which suits their interests as a technical learner.
Alongside this, they have a highly successful A-Level Computer Science course, which has seen certain students progress to studying Science at Russell Group universities. They also offer an exciting new vocational course at KS5, BTEC Creative Digital Media Production which is run alongside their Media Studies team.
The Computer Science department is highly collaborative, making use of Office 365 to share resources and planning. With students able to work exclusively online, making use of Microsoft Teams and OneNote Class Notebooks allowing for a high level of engagement both in and out of the classroom.
Salary offered: £46,500 - £55,000 (Dependent on experience)
