SalaryInterQuest are currently exclusively supporting a banking organization in identifying a Head of Data Protection. This would be a permanent role based in the North West with circa 3 days in the office.
The role act as the banks DPO and would oversee, maintain, and continuously enhance the banks data security and cyber environment. Your primary mission will be to ensure that customer and business data is robustly protected for the organisation.
Responsibilities would include:
- Establish and manage Data Risk Assurance processes to monitor the effectiveness of policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
- As as GDPR SME and Data Protection Officer for the bank
- Provide expert advice on Data Protection and security for commercial contracts.
- Investigate and report data breaches, including serious incidents.
- Develop and implement strategies, policies, and guidelines to ensure compliance with cyber security, data governance, and Data Protection regulations across all departments.
To be considered you would need:
- Extensive knowledge of cybersecurity standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO27001, ISO27002, NIST, CIS, OSA, OWASP, SANS, COBIT).
- Prior experience as a DPO
- Possess excellent communication skills capable of simplifying technical language and face off to senior stakeholders in the bank
