Head of Data Visualisation
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Head of Data Visualisation! In this role, you will collaborate closely with leaders across the organisation to leverage Data Visualisation for informed decision-making. Your responsibilities will encompass ownership of the data democratisation strategy, fostering key relationships with technical stakeholders, and leading a team dedicated to delivering accurate and timely reporting products.
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop the data strategy, introducing new analytical capabilities, including cloud-enabled approaches, to meet present and future business needs efficiently.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with key technical stakeholders in Data and Tech to establish priorities and achieve goals for Data Visualisation tools.
- Lead a team responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and robust reporting and dashboard products that support key business decisions or provide insights to various user groups within the organisation.
- Ensure the accuracy and accessibility of metrics and data within dashboards and reports, adhering to statutory or legal requirements.
- Build a strong personal reputation as a Data Visualisation expert within the organisation, actively participating in internal and external forums, and driving the team to achieve industry-leading outputs.
- Provide guidance and expertise in developing Data Visualisation products, maintaining personal expertise within a continuous learning culture.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, including the Heads of Data Science, and consult on complex Data Visualisation issues.
- Develop effective relationships with external partners, including partner airlines and software vendors, as appropriate.
- Utilise agile approaches and a product mindset to prioritise the portfolio, manage a worklist/backlog, and ensure effective use of Data Visualisation resources in supporting business requirements.
- Manage, support, coach, and develop the team in accordance with organisational guidelines, fostering a continuous improvement culture and encouraging the use of new ideas and technology.
Skills and Capabilities:
- Understand complex business problems and structure approaches to address them through data, reporting, and dashboarding.
- Confidently direct and guide the team to deliver high-quality, timely, and innovative data exploitation, reporting, and dashboarding.
- Ensure projects are delivered to quality, time, and budget with excellent client satisfaction.
- Possess strong stakeholder management skills and excel in communication, challenging, and influencing directors and senior managers.
- Able to manage, coach, and develop a team effectively.
- Knowledge of a range of reporting and analytical tools and techniques; proficient in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Substantial experience in applying reporting techniques, analytics, and dashboarding skills. Previous leadership in cross-department projects and development and implementation of strategies related to data or analytics.
- Proven ability to develop depth and breadth of business knowledge, including a good understanding of the business plan and cross-departmental issues.
- Understanding of the general business environment and its impact on the organisation.
