This is a unique and exciting opportunity to shape the future of how Digital Data and Technology programmes and projects are delivered within the Government Property Agency (GPA).

The job can be based at Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and Nottingham.

The Agency is central to the delivery of key Government policies including moving 22,000 Civil Service roles out of London by 2030 & tackling climate change by contributing to the Net Zero agenda.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for PMO Vision, Strategy & Operating Model development, maturity & performance
  • Line Management of PMO Team, budget & succession planning
  • PMO Stakeholder engagement & Communications (DDaT and wider GPA)
  • Selection & Management of all PMO Systems & Suppliers
  • Manage Project Pipelines

The job can be based at Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and Nottingham.

Experience & technical skills

  • Significant leadership experience in the DDaT space with specific experience in delivering change at pace.
  • Demonstrable stakeholder engagement skills to develop & build key trusted relationships with colleagues across the GPA; you will present complex and technical information to internal & external groups including at Board level.
  • Significant experience of line management / development & leading a service (incl budget management)
  • Detailed knowledge & significant experience of the management & successful delivery of full programme/project lifecycle (including pre-programme/ project phases) and supplier management of a large and complex technology change portfolio.

Qualifications & accreditations
Minimum of 3 of the following:

  • MoP, P30, MSP, APM PFQ/PMQ, PRINCE2, ISEB P&P Support (Practitioner), ITIL (beneficial)

Job Offer

Alongside your salary of £51,700, GPA contributes £13,959 towards you being a member of the CS DBP Pension scheme.

Sift
The closing date is 23.1.24, the sift is due to take place by 25.1.24 but is subject to change.
As part of the application process, you will be asked to produce a 500-word statement, which should then align with the 2 behaviours which are Managing A Quality Service and Changing & Improving.
Applicants successful at sift will be invited to interviews, due to take place week commencing 5.2.24 and will be a virtual interview.
This is subject to change dependent upon where most successful candidates are based.
You will be scored against 2 behaviours - Communicating and Influencing, and Developing Self and Others
Interview questions will be a blend of Behaviour, Experience, Strength and Technical (core skill) questions.
