We are seeking a dynamic Head of Design and Technology to join the team at a vibrant and diverse secondary school in Birmingham. Day to day of the role:- Lead the Design and Technology department, setting high standards and clear expectations for staff and students.
- Develop and implement innovative pedagogical strategies to enhance teaching and learning within the department.
- Observe lessons and provide constructive feedback to promote high-quality teaching practices.
- Ensure that all members of the department engage in regular professional development and peer observations.
- Act as a role model for staff, embodying the school’s values and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the trust to participate in cross-trust activities and initiatives.
- Drive up standards, expectations, and aspirations, enabling staff and students to regularly experience success.
- A proven track record of effective leadership within Design and Technology or a related subject area.
- A strong commitment to improving student outcomes and the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Excellent understanding of curriculum development and the latest educational practices.
- Ability to foster a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
