Position: Head of Development Finance

Location: Farringdon London

Salary: 85,835 - 90,353

Are you a seasoned financial leader with a passion for driving excellence in service delivery? Are you eager to utilise your expertise to foster innovation and growth within the social housing sector? Metropolitan invites applications for the position of Head of Development Finance on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

Main Responsibilities:

Providing Direction:

  • Guide partner service areas through financial planning processes and assess new business opportunities.
  • Interpret financial reports and initiate actions for improvement.
  • Represent service customers in corporate planning activities and advise colleagues on financial implications of business decisions.
  • Define and promote service delivery standards across the Financial Services team.

Managing Self and Personal Skills:

  • Conduct duties as required and adhere to Metropolitan's Code of Conduct.
  • Manage personal development and flexibility in working patterns.

Working with People:

  • Build strong relationships with the Development SLT and business leaders.
  • Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Promote a coaching approach and encourage innovation and creativity.

Using Resources:

  • Ensure efficiency improvements and manage business risks effectively.
  • Utilise resources efficiently within budget.

Achieving Results:

  • Assess partner service areas' business plans and monitor project viability.
  • Enhance commercial awareness and implement financial risk management strategies.

Facilitating Change:

  • Lead the Development Business partnering team towards efficiency and innovation.
  • Foster a culture focused on quality customer service and continuous improvement.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualified accountant with senior/SLT-level financial management experience.
  • Strong commercial acumen and performance management skills.
  • Excellent communicator with advanced IT literacy.
  • Commitment to customer service and service excellence.
  • Experience in financial/business planning and corporate strategy.
  • Affinity with the social housing sector.
  • Experience managing teams of varying skills and experience.
