Job description

I have the pleasure in partnering with a leading forward thinking energy business who are going through impressive change plans to remain at the cutting edge of this ever changing sector.  A group of companies that have seen impressive growth both organically and through acquisition based near Farringdon who are now looking to recruit a Head of ESG to join their SLT team reporting to the Commercial Director and Group HRD.

A brand new role to the business you will be responsible for innovative change and your work will shape the business for their future.

Paying up to £105,000 plus car allowance and 20% bonus you will help the development and implementation of an excellent ESG strategy, ensuring it aligns with business goals, objectives and stakeholder ideas. A key leadership position that will be responsible for embedding sustainability and ethical practices into the heart of the business working closely with the Group HRD and Commercial Director overseeing ESG initiatives, reporting, and compliance across the group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the senior stakeholders Group HRD and Commercial Director to develop and execute an innovative ESG strategy that complements the corporate vision.
  • Lead sustainability projects, including environmental management, social initiatives, and governance enhancement to meet ESG objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to integrate ESG values into the business operations.
  • Manage ESG reporting and communication, ensuring transparency and accountability in the ESG performance.
  • Stay abreast of ESG trends, legislation, and best practices to keep the Group at the forefront of sustainability and compliance
  • Drive employee engagement and awareness on ESG issues within the organization.

Your Experience

  • Proven experience in an ESG leadership role within a corporate setting.
  • Strong knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks, sustainability practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Be able to build an ESG strategy and have a vision of your own ideas
  • A visionary leader with the ability to inspire and drive change across the organisation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills as you will have to present this initiatives to the board at times
  • Commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism
  • Perhaps be looking to step up into your first senior role or have set up similar strategies on your own
