The University has grown significantly and is particularly focused on delivering diversity to our student population. To answer that requirement and as part of our wider organisational change programme a successful hub and spoke model of strategy and operational delivery has been established with respect to student recruitment and marketing.
The Head of Faculty Marketing and Recruitment (HFMR) is a key role embedded into the Faculty of Sciences to support the Dean, Faculty Executive Board and Heads of Department at a strategic level to deliver student recruitment targets. The post holder will coordinate the development and delivery of a market-led, data-driven Faculty Marketing and Recruitment strategy for domestic and international activity. The post will work closely and collaboratively with central teams within External Relations - principally the Marketing, Recruitment Admissions and Outreach team and the International Recruitment Partnerships and Mobility team and Faculty Departments and stakeholders.
Role
The post line manages a small Marketing and Recruitment team and is supported by a number of directorate-wide project teams. Together the HFMR and team are tasked with delivering market intelligence and portfolio insights. developing subject level lead generation, conversion activities and content, improving student experience throughout the applicant pipeline, driving in-cycle performance and conversion to enrolled students. The post is integral to setting and reviewing annual five year student number targets based on market demand.
Skills, Experience & Qualification needed
- You will hold a Master’s degree and/or additional professional certification in marketing (such as CIM, IDM etc.) and an understanding of relevant regulations, legislation and national codes of practice relating to marketing within an Higher Education environment.
- You will be an experienced recruitment marketeer, able to work with a range of colleagues to develop and deliver innovative overseas and home marketing, recruitment and conversion plans across departments, faculties and central teams.
- You should also have significant experience of understanding and promoting academic portfolios and programmes, and the ability to commission, interpret and implement customer insights to deliver recruitment and income generation targets.
- You should have extensive experience of utilising and understanding data to inform Marketing and Recruitment strategies and have a strong sense of business acumen
