The position requires the commensurate knowledge, experience and gravitas needed to operate at board room level as well as corporate accounting and budgeting, forecasting and strategic thinking skills and aptitude.

Description

Day/Weekly

• All sales and purchase ledger activities (using Xero).
• Manage credit card and expense processing.
• Credit control including bank payments and bank reconciliations.
• Accruals, prepayments, deferred income and accrued income management.
• Working alongside the CCO to plan invoicing and receivables from sales and consulting work in progress.
• Overseeing the management of supplier activities, schemes, utilities and insurance.

Monthly

• Liaising with external payroll function for circa 20 staff.
• Management accounts creations with commentary presented to senior stakeholders.
• Provision of financial / variance reports to the CEO / Board and Senior Leadership Team.
• Maintain & further development corporate financial controls governance.
• Balance sheet reviews and cash flow management.
• Development and scrutiny of Finance Department procedures.
• Creating and maintaining the strategic financial reporting model.

Quarterly / Annually

• Budgeting and forecasting for the company.
• Liaising with external accountants for statutory account preparation and tax planning with commentary.
• Managing the yearly departmental budget round and tracking planned v actual.
• Administration of quarterly VAT returns.
• Fixed Asset register management.
• Managing journals.

Profile

• At least 4 years' experience in a finance management / controller position.
• Good problem solving skills as well as an aptitude for independent working.
• Strong knowledge of Excel, formulas and spreadsheets.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills.
• General knowledge and interest in technology and industry trends.
• Understanding of sales and pre sales environment would be an advantage.
• Aptitude and drive to develop towards an FD/ CXO role.
