Job description

Goldstar is a leading transport and warehousing company, dedicated to excellence, efficiency, and sustainability in all aspects of our operations. As we continue to expand and innovate, we are seeking a highly skilled Head of Fleet and Transport to join our team and lead our transportation and logistics department.

Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Transport and Fleet Manager to oversee all aspects of our transportation and fleet operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse fleet of vehicles, ensuring compliance with regulations, overseeing insurance, and implementing cost-effective strategies to improve efficiency and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimise transportation and fleet operations.
  • Oversee the management of Fleet vehicles, including maintenance schedules, repairs, and replacements.
  • Supervise driver behaviours and Transportation staff, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Analyise transport data to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities, and drive change in these areas.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and and service providers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key personnel both internally and externally.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Prepare and present reports on transport and fleet performance to senior management and the Board.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in transportation and fleet management, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.
  • Proficiency in transportation management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • TM National and International CPC.
