Head of Grounds
£50,000 to £55,000 per annum plus car or car allowance
Reporting into the Head of Operations, the Head of Grounds will provide leadership and management of the ground’s maintenance and landscaping business in Chequers. The Head of Grounds will build and maintain strong relationships with a team of four Account Managers as well as the wider customers and teams. Taking a strategic approach to our Grounds maintenance business, the Head of Grounds will spot opportunities for growth and efficiencies whilst meeting contractual and all H&S requirements.
As Head of Grounds, you’ll be:
- The senior level contact for Ground & Landscaping within Chequers Contract Services
- Owning and driving key customer relationships
- Maximising business opportunities within each area, identifying new products and/or operating practices and introducing or implementing these as appropriate.
- Monitoring competitor activity and provide suitable intelligence and propose pre-emptive/reactive strategies.
- Achieving annual operating profits, gross revenues and stock exception targets as set down and agreed.
- Setting annual budgets for the relevant portfolios within Grounds & Landscaping and ensure spending is reviewed and managed.
As Head of Grounds, you’ll have:
- Proactive performance management of service delivery teams within Grounds & Landscaping sector, able to demonstrate skills and the ability to form successful delivery teams.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety and environmental standards. Safety first focus – demonstrates how to manage this area effectively to ensure compliance by all levels of staff.
- Good prioritisation of work, time management and organisational planning techniques
- Strong problem solver and ability to use coaching techniques to get others to own and solve their own problems effectively.
- Excellent communication skills – able to communicate effectively with all levels from client senior management to operational staff.
