What does a Head of Housing Needs do at Hillingdon?

The Head of Housing Needs is responsible for delivering the council's statutory Housing Needs functions which includes housing advice & homelessness, management of the housing register and permanent & temporary housing allocations.
The Housing Needs Service consists of approximately 60 members of staff split across 7 teams who deliver our permanent, temporary and private sector lettings, housing register and housing advice & homelessness teams.
The Service hosts commissioned services which includes rough sleeper inreach & outreachand young person housing services. The Service also works holistically with statutory & voluntary partner agencies to ensure that residents approaching the service can get the advice & support they need.

About you

We are looking for an inspirational leader, mentor & coach to run our Housing Needs department. You will be committed to running excellent services that meets the needs of all residents who are seeking housing advice and support. You must have significant experience in delivering statutory Housing Needs services.
You will need creativity and excellent problem-solving skills to deliver strategic initiatives whilst also ensuring a high-quality operational service that continuously strives to improve.
