Job Introduction
This new role is accountable for supporting and implementation of the People Strategy and plan across BBC News. This role will drive operational excellence in delivering a strategic HR business partner service across Network News whilst enabling HR leadership service. You will own and lead on the delivery of the cultural initiatives across pan BBC News and with support of wider central HR functions.
The position is part of the HR Senior Leadership Team and is pivotal in ensuring HR delivers efficiently and effectively and is accessible to all.
Main Responsibilities
As an HR leader, you will be representing the function internally and externally, visibly role modelling our values and behaviours. Supporting the HR Director in the shaping and implementation of the People Strategy and plan, across BBC News. Drive operational excellence in delivering a Strategic HR business partner service across Network News, ensuring and enabling a positive HR leadership service.
Working alongside the Senior HR Business Partners, this role will act as a sounding board for complex reputational impacting issues and will challenge the SHRBPs to ensure the overall News strategy and culture changes are delivered.
You’ll be the global lead on developing a ‘digital first’ culture for the News Division, working closely with Head of HR International as well as partnering with Central HR functions, Performance & Development Team, People Experience Team, Diversity & Inclusion and Leadership development to ensure that BBC News builds a confident, creative and inclusive culture.
You’ll ensure our policies, procedures and processes are fit for purpose whilst proactively leading and continually improving the service delivery across the BBC, with the aim of delighting employees through the services offered. The successful applicant will play a lead role in the success of the HR Operating Model ensuring integration across HR to deliver a high quality, valued HR service that helps to develop management capability and the desired organisational culture in line with our strategy.
By leading the team performance, you will ensure our people are developed, motivated and available to deliver all services that in turn add value to the BBC. You will deliver consistently to an agreed service level agreements/Key Performance Indicators and Looking to continually improve HR processes, controls and procedures implementing robust compliance and governance in place.
Are You The Right Candidate
Track record of delivering strategic initiatives that enhance business performance in a global environment, whilst balancing urgent operational requirements.
Adept at managing numerous, diverse senior and executive level stakeholders, often operating under tight timescales and managing numerous competing priorities.
Drive operational excellence in delivering a strategic HR business partner service across Network News, ensuring and enabling a positive HR leadership service.
Experience in leading complex high profile and sensitive employee relations issues and considering reputational impact in all related decision making'
Proven experience in leading strategic cultural change to build a diverse and inclusive culture
Lead strategic cultural initiatives to build capability at senior leadership level
Exceptional communicator: an ability to influence and persuade at Executive Level both written and verbally
Confident using data and insight to create leading edge, innovative tools/solutions
Experience of leading and managing HR teams in complex global organisations
