Purpose of role: To provide a full IT support service to Greensleeves Care. The post-holder will perform a strategic role in order to develop and drive the IT strategy of Greensleeves Care.
Location: Head Office in London. However, there will be travel to Greensleeves Care Homes.
Key Responsibilities
Information Technology (IT)
- Develop, implement and subsequently maintain a cohesive and effective IT strategy for Greensleeves Care to ensure robust and reliable operation of IT facilities into the future
- Proactively drive improvements in IT provision working with third party providers where necessary to benefit from new innovation
- Ensure that IT services are compliant with required information security and data protection principles and system security requirements
- Review existing IT service providers and replace as necessary. Thereafter monitor compliance with agreed service level agreements.
- Review current arrangements for acquisition of IT hardware and software, revise as necessary and subsequently manage all IT procurement across Greensleeves Care.
- Review all software systems in use across Greensleeves Care to ensure relevance and fitness for purpose. Select alternatives and implement or project manage implementation as required.
- To manage IT aspects of any software or hardware implementation and development programmes as required (possibly in support role to operational teams)
- To assist all staff with any IT issues they may have on a day to day basis
- Ensure provision of any IT training required for new or existing staff across Greensleeves Care.
- To ensure all new users on the Citrix systems or similar and ensuring they have access/log on details to all the software they require
- Installation and set-up of new computers at Head office or in the homes
- Act as first contact for all IT providers, e.g. RFA, Bistech, Renovotec
- Act as ‘Super User’ for all IT systems/suppliers/software (Nourish, Sona, ADP, XLedger & Found)
- To ensure all software is up to date and computers have suitable anti-virus/anti-malware software installed
- Ensure the provision to all homes of sufficient internet coverage and oversee the continued rollout of Wi-Fi access
- To review existing telephony arrangements and upgrade/develop as required to best support the business
- Develop and maintain an appropriate IT disaster recovery plan
- Review and upgrade as necessary all IT policies for Greensleeves Care
- To establish and manage the IT budget ensuring cost effective use of the resources of Greensleeves Care.
Procurement and Office Services
- To work in collaboration with Head of procurement for Greensleeves Care in conjunction with existing functional procurement arrangements. To ensure we purchase the appropriate services and equipment at a reasonable price.
- To provide management and guidance to the Office and Facilities Manager in ensuring that the Head office environment is maintained to present a professional, tidy and functional environment for all staff and visitors
- To provide cover for the Office and Facilities Manager in their absence.
What you need to succeed in this role:
- Good general standard of education e.g. GCSE or equivalent.
- A relevant IT qualification to degree level or equivalent.
- Proven experience in establishing and developing an IT function for a growing organization.
- A broad range of experience across a number of platforms and applications including cloud based applications and storage.
- Experience of reporting to a non-technically qualified line manager.
- A demonstrable ability to solve problems and work under their own initiative
- An understanding of and empathy with the not for profit care sector
- Ability and willingness to work at both strategic and detailed level
- A commitment to provide a high quality IT, Head office management and procurement service to Greensleeves Care.
- Strong organizational skills
