Head of IT
Our client is seeking a Head of IT experienced in taking the lead on programmes and projects across a full range of IT responsibilities and proactively providing oversight and support across all IT and AV services.
For this business critical role you will have comprehensive technical knowledge of information systems, networks, IT/cybersecurity and operating systems as well as management of customer focused AV and IT technical services.
Our Client is open to appointing on a permanent or 12 month fixed term contract. This will be an ASAP start following a successful interview.

Our client is an innovative and modern not for profit membership organisation located in the City of London.
What will you be doing?
The Head of IT will take responsibility for the strategic development and implementation of technology services, support and management of IT services, management of IT standards and security, supporting with operational IT and AV services, AV support, keeping programmes on track and team management.
You will:
For this role you will have experience of managing, leading and developing staff, both individually and as a team. A positive and customer focused approach is needed to support users across the organisation.
You will have skills in planning, an ability to think and act strategically, have project and time management skills, with an ability to set and work to fixed deadlines, be self-motivated and resilient and calm under pressure.
In addition:
- Qualified to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject area.
- Membership or not for profit organisation experience desirable.
- Comprehensive knowledge of information systems, networks, IT/cybersecurity, operating systems, Database (incl. SQL), PC, Software as a service (SAAS) provision and telecommunications technology and systems.
- Experience and knowledge of managing Windows based systems, Microsoft365 and supporting a wide range of users with these and associated applications.
- Experience and knowledge of managing cloud hosted (Azure) systems and supporting associated business applications and solutions.
- Experience in implementing and supporting CRM solutions for organisations.
- Applying business analysis and process-improvement techniques to real business problems and situations with experience of implementing business solutions and applications.
- Good understanding of relevant law and software licensing including Government and European I.T. Legislation.
- Management of IT suppliers and contractors and successful delivery of contracts on time and on budget.
- Managing key information systems and IT infrastructures, resulting in measurable improvements in business performance.
- Experience of managing, leading, and developing staff, both individually and as a small team.
- Experience of setting and managing budgets and other resources to achieve objectives/work plan.
- Creating and maintaining high level effective support documentation including business case analyses, project management tools, reports, and procedures.
- Ability to effectively manage internal and external stakeholders, and communications across the projects.
- Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills.
- Be an exceptional and conceptual communicator both written and verbal.
