Main Purpose of the Job:
The Head of IT is responsible for overseeing the IT Department, including the IT Service Desk and Technical and Delivery Team. This role is crucial for ensuring global security across the organization.The key responsibilities include:
Key Tasks & Activities:
Leadership & Management:
- Act as an ambassador for the IT department, serving as the point of escalation for all IT-related matters.
- Maintain and improve consistent working standards within the IT Department, ensuring adherence to agreed SLAs.
- Ensure the maintenance of robust, resilient, and secure Networks and Services to minimize outages and prevent breaches.
- Audit and enforce security and compliance standards, including PCI and GDPR.
- Develop and deliver an IT strategy and roadmap aligned with the business.
- Establish and maintain IT policies, governance, and systems to support company operations.
- Procure efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and software.
- Regularly review and optimize technological equipment and software usage.
- Control the IT budget and report on expenditure and cost-saving initiatives.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors and create cost-efficient contracts.
- Deliver a roadmap for enhancing the company's IT infrastructure.
- Governance, Strategy, and Delivery:
- Directly manage the IT Service Desk Team Lead, Technical and Delivery Managers, including performance management and career development.
- Ensure consistent high standards for IT delivery, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
- Provide feedback and constructive challenge to business leaders regarding IT systems and spending.
- Coordinate the IT Leadership Team to ensure efficient delivery and transition of change into BAU.
- Maintain robust processes, policies, and governance, including a Change Advisory Board (CAB).
- Implement and maintain processes for managing Change Requests and small projects efficiently.
- Maintain a robust project lifecycle for delivery, utilizing appropriate processes based on complexity, cost, and risk.
Key Performance Indicators:
Success in this role will be evaluated based on the following Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Adherence to Incidents, Service Request, and Change Request Processes with achievement of SLA/KPIs.
- Reduction in the number and impact of issues following change implementation.
- Regular feedback from stakeholders demonstrating engagement and improvements.
- Adoption of a continuous improvement culture, as evidenced by the department roadmap.
- Compliance in all areas, with zero breaches and timely issue management.
- Budget management within or below the allocated budget.
- Timely delivery of projects and BAU development.
- Positive engagement scores from staff surveys and regular team check-ins.
- Maintaining services/network availability at 99% with no breaches.
- Effective use of dashboards and reporting to demonstrate KPI achievement.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of IT Technology Systems and Platforms, System Architecture, Security, and Delivery.
- Demonstrable knowledge of continual improvement principles.
- Strong understanding of Cloud Technology, Microsoft Modern Workplace, Azure, System Integrations, VM Ware, and ecommerce.
- LAN, WAN & Telecommunications skills.
