Head of IT Systems - Stockport - Hybrid - GBP70,000- GBP75,000

Head of IT systems will be responsible for ensuring Internal IT and Customer Hosted infrastructure are functional; both in terms of being involved in the day-to-day development, testing, implementation and support of their infrastructure and hosted services. In addition, the IT Systems Manager manages and mentors other member of the Infrastructure team as well as helping to ensure there is constantly innovating to use the latest AWS technologies, security principles, frameworks, standards, processes etc.

Key skills & Attributes

• Experience in supporting Cloud based applications
• Experience in supporting web-based applications
• Solid experience in hosted software management
• Experience with Windows, Linux environments.
• Experience with 3rd party vendors
• Experience in using JIRA for issue management
• Proven work experience as a system engineer or information security engineer
• Experience in building and maintaining security systems
• Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system security
• Experience in security systems, including Firewalls, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc
• Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools
• Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
• Familiarity with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols
• Problem solving skills Excellent technical analytical skills and ability to solve problems logically
• Excellent prioritization skills, especially in an environment with commercial end-users
• Good written and verbal communications skills

Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

• Certified ITIL processes
• Experience in a support or hosted infrastructure team
• Experience in relational and non-relational databases
• Experience in a geographically distributed team environment
• General knowledge of the field service industry
