Job Title: Head of Learning & Organisational Development

Location: Princess Alexandra Hospital, Hamstel Road, Harlow CM20 1QX

Hours: Monday- Friday 9am-5pm (37.5 hours a week)

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS trust plays a huge part in west Essex and east and north Hertfordshire's way of life.

The trust runs a busy hospital, The Princess Alexandra Hospital and provides services at St. Margaret's Hospital and Herts and Essex Hospital. Together serve a population of around 350,000 people.

What you'll be responsible for:

  • Organisational Development Lead on Needs Analysis
  • Lead on Change & Project Management
  • Oversee Learning and Development
  • Professional Education (Graduate Management Scheme) Lead
  • Work with Directors, managers and staff to ensure the effective management and delivery of all learning and development aspects of projects and initiatives, from programme design through to implementation, and evaluation.
  • Staff Management

You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

  1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
  2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
  3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You'll have the following skills/experience:

  • Progressive experience driving learning and development design, implementation, and management of impactful learning solutions.
  • CIPD Level 7 or equivalent experience
  • Management qualification or equivalent experience
  • Certifications in tools & frameworks such as DISC, MBTI, 5 Habits, GROW coaching, StrengthsFinder
  • NHS Experience
  • Extensive experience in the design and delivery of people and OD strategies to support the organisations strategic and operational plans
  • Experience working with Learning and Development, corporate and operational teams to design and deliver OD and behaviour change strategies, processes and interventions
  • Experience of undertaking training needs analyses (TNAs)
  • Experience of working in an acute teaching hospital and/or community services environment at Band 8A or above

This role may require you to show evidence of education to Degree level or at least 2 years relevant experience.
