Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a high-performing Head of Marketing to deliver and execute a global marketing strategy for our award-winning energy research consultancy. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned marketing leader to help build a scalable marketing strategy and team, from the ground up, with the full support of our senior management team and the wider business.

The core objective is to help the business deliver revenue targets and continue the development of our brand and presence. The role would suit a seasoned, digitally focused marketing professional with experience of working collaboratively across the functions of a growing business.

You will be the driving force in systematically generating quality leads for the sales team, responsible for developing, delivering and coordinating all activities related to corporate communications and messaging. This will require agility to work across the full range of Marketing, communication and branding activities. You will need to plan and prioritise to balance the different workstreams you will be responsible for, whilst building a high-performing marketing team.

We are a fast-paced business, so the role requires flexibility, adaptability and the drive to go beyond the core hours when needed. In exchange, we offer excellent remuneration, a high-performance culture, with challenging and exciting work. All team members are encouraged to build their professional reputation and expertise in the sector and are supported by some of the most well-regarded energy sector commentators.

The Head of Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing a scalable marketing strategy with a particular focus on:

  • Marketing Technology
  • Lead generation
  • Digital presence
  • PR and media
  • Events
  • Branding and awareness

Duties:

  • Promoting Energy Aspects, our service offerings and product launches, across all relevant media formats, to regional and global markets.
  • Managing our social engagement strategy, using organic and paid channels, including taking ownership of press releases and other media engagements.
  • Organizing speaking opportunities for senior analysts at global conferences.
  • Converting Energy Aspects’ market views and predicted market moves into suitable and enticing marketing campaigns for existing and potential clients.
  • Overall responsibility for corporate communication, brand management and corporate identity, including managing media engagements.
  • Coordinating marketing campaigns with business and sales activities.
  • Managing lead generation campaigns to create marketing qualified leads for sales, including measuring results and ROI.
  • Assisting with name generation in new logos for marketing campaigns.
  • Managing and proofing the content on Energy Aspect’s public website.
  • Building and managing relationships with potential third-party marketing companies.
  • Developing and managing an event strategy across all product specialisms.
    • Mapping upcoming events and allocating resources and budgets effectively.
    • Establishing clear ROIs against event attendance, including post-event sales/marketing campaigns.
    • Developing, alongside the strategy and sales teams, a contra-deal strategy.
  • Developing “competitor research” initiatives, in conjunction with sales. Keeping the company informed of competitive moves, product launches, price lists and general competitor intelligence.

Requirements:

  • Proven hands-on experience in developing and delivering a digital-first global product and content marketing strategy.
  • High level of proficiency in Martech, including but not limited to Salesforce and Pardot.
  • Ability to interpret and translate technical industry content into succinct and enticing marketing copy, across all formats.
  • Fluency in English with excellent communication, written and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to understand customer workflows, and the decision-making process.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue goals.
  • Capable of collaborating effectively with prospects and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work with a high level of independence, integrity and ethical standards.
  • Marketing experience in the research or intellectual services sector.

Desirable Skills:

  • General knowledge of the energy and financial markets, with an understanding of back/middle/front office operations.
  • Fluency in a second language.
  • Prior experience of working with a range of non-native English speakers.
