We are seeking an inspiring and dedicated Head of Music to join a forward-thinking Secondary School in the Blackburn and Darwen area. The ideal candidate will be a passionate educator with a commitment to delivering high-quality teaching in Music at KS3 and KS4 levels. This leadership role, commencing in September 2024, requires a visionary individual who can ensure the Music curriculum is both creative and innovative.
Day-to-day of the role:- Develop and maintain a sequential, aspirational Music curriculum with clear differentiation, regularly updating schemes of work.
- Act as a Leader of Learning, maintaining a clear vision of outstanding teaching and learning within the Music department.
- Uphold the highest standards of teaching and learning, consistently targeting areas for improvement with significant impact.
- Set expectations and targets for students, monitoring progress towards these goals.
- Analyse and evaluate student standards and achievement against annual targets, utilising the whole school tracking system to monitor progress within the Music Department.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in Music.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality Music education at KS3 and KS4 levels.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and students.
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills.
- A clear vision for the development of the Music department.
