Job description

Seven Resourcing are looking for a Head of Neighbourhood Services in Hammersmith. This position is initially for a period of 3 months and is paying £450 per day (PAYE) The working hours are Monday - Friday from 9am - 5pm. Hybrid working 3 days from the office.

The role:

To deliver a value for money neighbourhood and sheltered housing service which builds safe and sustainable communities, provides excellent resident experience,  improves satisfaction, and enhances the quality of life and opportunity for residents.

To lead on the housing management strategy improvement plan and review all policies, processes for housing management and sheltered services, using business intelligence, benchmarking data to deliver transformation to services. To monitor and analysis of statutory KPI's and LPI's and setting and monitoring appropriate performance targets to deliver an efficient and streamlined service.

To be responsible for overall budget management for Neighbourhood services,  analysing and advising on the budgetary impact of property management, delivering services within the budget envelop and producing periodic budget monitoring information.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for working closely with the Assistant Director, Housing Management to deliver continuous service improvement, transformation and innovation and identification of developmental opportunities.

Develop and deliver long term housing strategies, an integrated approach to neighbourhood management and business plans for Neighbourhood Services which enables achievement of corporate plans and targets and against which progress can be clearly measured.

A good grasp of the legal and regulatory framework for social landlords and relevant housing legislation.

Lead the strategic development of the sheltered housing service and implement the business and service improvement plans to enable achievement of the corporate plan and targets and against which performance can be clearly measured.

To work strategically with the various project boards and other senior managers to develop appropriate plans that anticipate and respond to organisational changes and ensure that current and future business needs are reflected in policies and procedures.

To produce members briefings, cabinet papers, reports for DMT and Senior leadership as when required.

Good people management and leadership skills who is self-motivated to provide line management and strategic direction to managers directly managed and have responsibility for the services.

To have line management responsibility for all managers directly managed including carrying out annual appraisals, 1:1s, training and development needs and target setting in line with Corporate and Departmental procedures.

To manage the staffing, financial and other resources of the service to ensure the most effective use of resources consistent with Council policy and priorities and relevant legislation.

Deliver a high quality, responsive, multi-functional housing hub and resident connect services, to ensure that customer service standards are met, and customer satisfaction is continuously improved.

Prepare and agree the budget for Neighbourhood Services, identify and deal with any overspend and deliver ways to improve value for money by reducing costs and increasing efficiency and effectiveness.

Deliver a service which promotes equality and diversity by giving equal and fair access and enables the identification and resolution of perceived or real inequalities for staff and residents.

To be on call outside normal office hours to act in the case of emergencies and to deal with public contact crises and security breaches in the service generally.

To deputise for the Assistant Director Housing Management as when necessary.

To carry out other duties consistent with the job purpose as may arise from time to.

Applicant Requirements:

Experience:  2+ years working within a similar role. 

Compliance:  Proof of right to work in the UK and 2 x references. 

Travel:  Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.

Hours:  37 hours p/w.
