We are looking for a talented, proactive and experienced senior manager to lead its Accreditation Unit. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to play a significant role supporting improvements in care for patients.
Main responsibility
The Head of Operations will lead the governance, strategic planning and operational delivery for the Accreditation Unit, by setting operational priorities, focussing activity against them and ensuring continuous improvement across the unit.
About you
You will have knowledge and understanding of the health service and have an interest in the quality assurance framework for the health sector. However, we would be happy to hear from candidates from different backgrounds with transferable skills. As a minimum, we are seeking candidates with:
- Significant experience in an operational management role with responsibility for teams, budgets, and delivery.
- Proven ability of leading multiple projects, including projects of significant scope and complexity
- Experience of delivering work in complex environments and reporting within a governance framework
- Experience of building and maintain working relationships with a variety of stakeholders including the ability to negotiate on difficult issues with tact and diplomacy
- Experience of leading meetings and delivering engaging workshops
About the RCP’s Accreditation Unit
The accreditation unit comprises around 30 staff and 80 external accreditation assessors who work across six clinical areas. The accreditation unit is highly experienced and credible at leading professionally led and patient-centred clinical accreditation programmes, as well as developing training packages for the endoscopy workforce. Each accreditation programme has a clinical lead and is supported by a multi-disciplinary steering group that includes patient representation.
