JOB TITLE: Head of Operations
Reports to: Divisional Director
Job Purpose:
* To oversee the effective delivery of all projects to time, quality and cost.
* To take direct responsibility for Project Management and coordination.
* To provide leadership and direction to the Operations team in the safe storage, refurbishment and preparation of fleet to service project delivery.
* Ensure Health and Safety on all schemes is at an exemplary level with zero harm culture in place.
Key Accountabilities:
* To ensure all secured orders are delivered on time, on margin, to the appropriate quality in a fully safe manner.
* To lead and manage projects from sales launch to end of installation up to handover to aftercare through effective coordination, ensuring all departments are clear on the requirements and are managed to meet these.
* To ensure the Operations Programme is maintained and updated constantly so that the division is fully aware of the position of all live projects.
* Ensure communication flows correctly from each department so that project coordination is effective.
* Ensure the operations department is appropriately resourced to meet the needs of the division and ensure processes are correctly followed to deliver safely, within budgets and on time.
* Ensure site delivery teams fully manage HSE to strive for a zero-harm culture and sites.
* Ensure site quality is managed in detail so that we do not have legacy issues.
* Manage the Divisional remedial issues within budget with a focus on long term reduction.
* Always manage site prelims within budgets.
* Train the team to be client facing and work towards strong client relationships to engender repeat business.
* Ensure the Operations team is adequately resourced to monitor, maintain, repair and refurbish the rental fleet as required.
* Support the sales team with site visits and at Precon meetings as appropriate to aid with work winning and ensure the smooth delivery of projects.
* Prepare monthly operational performance reports as appropriate to the needs of the business.
* Actively participate in monthly CPR and Senior Management Meetings to ensure project performance is closely managed and divisional communication is strong.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Experience, Qualifications & Training:
* HND or Degree Level in Construction preferred.
* Highly numerate.
* Contractually and commercially aware. Having detailed knowledge of the terms of JCT D&B and NEC3 forms of contract is important.
* The successful candidate would preferably have a minimum 5 years’ experience in an equal / similar role, from within a Design and Build, Modular or Main Contracting background.
