Job Introduction

We are thrilled to announce that we are looking for a Head of Placemaking to join the Rapport and Compass Group teams at our impressive new-built client site, based in Unity Place, Milton Keynes.

As a Head of Placemaking and Communications, your overall purpose would be to help bring to life our shared commitment by creating exceptional experience for tenants, stakeholders, and the local community.

The successful candidate will take a multi-faced approach to the planning, management, and holistic curation of building common and public spaces to strengthen the link between colleagues, people, and the destination. This will include close links with “in-building” and external local communities to develop ideas, inspiration and maximise the potential that results in great destinations promoting people’s happiness and wellbeing.

This is a hybrid full-time, permanent role (40 hours per week). The service hours are from Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5:30 PM, with flexibility as per business needs.

Main responsibilities

  • Developing close working relations with key stakeholders and tenants to produce annual marketing and communication plans that drive brand value, and increase sales revenue
  • Overseeing the marketing team to ensure all campaigns are executed to the highest standards and excellent communications are maintained with all stakeholders and associates
  • Auditing all tenants monthly to ensure they are adhering to the brand standards and implementing seasonal marketing campaigns effectively
  • Assisting the in-house teams to implement all tactical activities, offering guidance, support, and expertise to ensure marketing activities are executed well
  • Overseeing the Senior Marketing and Communications Executive to create content for social media handles, newsletters, websites, and various communication channels
  • Keeping all internet, app, and onsite physical content, as well as digital media up to date, relevant and interesting
  • Developing compelling marketing campaigns and events that attract new audiences and C&E opportunities to the business
  • Creating a calendar of award submissions and drive innovation across the venue
  • Managing key partnerships and community organisations to ensure a proactive events calendar that is diverse and inclusive
  • Reporting on the financial performance of all promotions and marketing activities to key stakeholders, such as the Client, Rapport, and Restaurant Associates
  • Implementing Compass initiatives that drive innovations, technology solutions, and marketing best practices within the business

The ideal candidate will

  • Be passionate about food, people, and delivering outstanding service
  • Ideally, have at least 4 years of experience in a similar role, creating a destination brand
  • Be proactive, pragmatic and have a commercial approach
  • Possess excellent understanding of the events market and current trends
  • Be tactical and plan strategically, demonstrating the delivery of obtained skills and experiences
  • Have strong influencing and communication skills (written and verbal), and the ability to create rapport with key stakeholders (i.e., colleagues and clients)
  • Be confident with developing and executing strategies
  • Drive change with effective project and stakeholder management skills
