At Okarno (previously Artex) we are hiring for a Head of Portfolioon a 12 month fixed term contract to manage and own the development and delivery of the product & range strategy, translating this into actionable outputs via the Product Marketing Team. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience working as a Product Manager who is looking to develop.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving and supporting the products team to ensure we are continually adapting and increasing our product range. They will own the long range product strategy, understanding market, trends and what action is needed by the team. They will have excellent communication skills and able to build long standing relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally.

Okarno is a leading distributor of some of the UK's must-have construction brands, offering a diverse choice of over 500 trade and DIY products. We've been supplying customers of all shapes and sizes for over 80 years, and now tailor our offering to match the needs of merchants, decorator centres and DIY stores across the UK.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 3 office days in the office.

What you will be doing:

• Manage, motivate and develop the products team
• Own the long range Product & Range Strategy in line with the overall business and Saint-Gobain strategies
• Own the in year product plan, supported from Brand, Communications, Promotional and Product activity, including the Artex Demo Van.
• Supporting the Head of Marketing in the development of the communication strategies for the sector, products, customer groups and corporate plans
• Oversea the creation of product and category vision and strategies, shaping range architecture, product lifecycle management, product propositions, pricing and creating clear roadmaps
• Invests time to understand customers' needs and expectations, identifying potential opportunities

What we're looking for:

• Someone ambitious and engaging who holds the customer at the heart of everything they do
• Experience building relationships both internally and externally
• Experience managing marketing/products team would be beneficial but not essential
• Experience working in the same/similar industry
• Great eye for detail
• Proactive and flexible approach to work
