I am currently working with an Exciting Leading Tooling/Industrial equipment supplier across the whole of the U.K. who are looking for a Strategic Leader to come and join the Purchasing Team!
My client has a reputation for providing top quality equipment and machinery that spans across a wide range of products of pristine finished goods. They also have a large online presence and like to brand themselves as the Amazon of Tooling.
They are looking for an experienced Head of Procurement to work within an established team and a busy environment, centrally located at our Nottingham Head Office(NG1). This is a fully office based role.
You will be responsible for the management of the team and ensuring that the company builds and develops a cost effective competitive and stable supply chain.
You will lead and create long term category strategies and plans across the business.
Day to day responsibilities include:
- Sourcing new products.
- Negotiating and influencing suppliers to achieve best market value.
- Be accountable for the annual targets and goals across cost, quality, reliability and delivery.
- Lead and manage the team of Buyers and Purchasing Assistants.
- Manage the Purchasing department and update the wider business with longer term projects.
- Identifying areas for improvement to current processes and procedures.
- Develop and own appropriate departmental KPIs to ensure performance and improvement is measured and acted on.
- Liaising with suppliers to obtain contributions to marketing campaigns as required from time to time.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Finished product experience.
- Previous experience of managing a small/medium sized team.
- Create Business cases and strategies to present to board level Directors.
- Had previous project experience in the past and ideally have rolled out NPI products.
- Managing Stakeholders and Suppliers while developing new relationships.
Occasional travel will be required
On rare occasions overnight stays might be required.
Working Hours: 8:30am - 6pm Monday to Thursday and Friday 8:30am - 5pm
