My client is looking for a highly competent Solicitor to head up the Property Team consisting of 3 Solicitors and 3 Legal assistants alongside running a caseload of residential / commercial conveyancing matters. This is a full time role —9am to 5pm, and best suited someone with the desire and enthusiasm to manage, inspire and grow a team.
About the Role:
• To manage a caseload of between 70 to 100 residential / commercial conveyancing matters including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, re-mortgages, transfers of equity, Help to Buy, shared ownership and lease extensions, commercial sales and purchases, new builds.
• To provide leadership to the Property team
• To supervise other members of the Property team
• To allocate new work within the Property team
• To provide guidance to other members of the Property team where necessary
• To pay particular attention to cross-referrals to other departments
• To have input into the annual CQS renewal application
• To monitor and manage Lender Exchange and LMS
• Staff responsibilities
• Health and safety responsibility
Personal specification
• Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years PQE in conveyancing (residential and commercial)
• CQS membership
• Skills/Abilities
• People management
• Confident communicator
• Team working
• Excellent client care skills
• Leadership
• IT literate and able to work paperless using the firm’s case management system
• Following ideal but not essential
Experience
• Consistent history of generating a fee income of at least 3 x salary
• Prior experience of supervising
• Prior experience of managing a team
• Familiarity with the LEAP case management system
• Digital AML & ID checks
