As Head of Property, you'll be responsible for continually reviewing and implementing the Commercial Property strategy and managing the portfolio as efficiently as possible. This includes ensuring our ambitious acquisition targets are met, rent levels are constantly reviewed whenever possible and lease terms are structured to ensure maximum flexibility.
Working within the Retail Senior Leadership team, you’ll build effective working relationships across the Commercial directorate and be responsible for a team of 8 covering all aspects of acquisitions, leasing and disposals.
You’ll be responsible for updating on all key Property metrics and objectives monthly and will lead quarterly portfolio review meetings with Retail to continue to develop and agree portfolio strategy.
Working arrangements
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office. At the start you will be required to visit our Claygate office one day per week.

About you
A qualified Chartered Surveyor, you’ll have strong commercial property expertise in managing a large retail property portfolio. With a proven track record of managing and delivering significant and complex budgets, you’ll have excellent numerical skills, along with initiative, good organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
With excellent commercial acumen, you’ll ensure the lease renewals are managed in a timely and appropriate way and deliver the best value to BHF.
To be successful in this role you’ll have:
•Line management experience
•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
•Be able to build strong working relationships and experience of dealing with Agents, Landlords, Investors and Developers
•Clear and logical thinking with excellent organisational skills
•Excellent numeracy skills and previous experience managing large budgets
•A full understanding of Codes of Practice and Landlord and Tenant Legislation
•A sound understanding of current property issues, markets and law
