With the constantly evolving trends in consumer behaviour towards shopping online and purchasing directly from manufacturers, Samsung has made growing its Direct to Consumer (D2C) business one of its global strategic priorities.
As our Proposition & Category Management Lead for VD, you will work closely with TVAV and Monitor Divisions, as well as D2C Marketing and Onsite teams to identify future growth opportunities for TVAV and Monitors, and map out the commercial strategy required to achieve our Commercial Objectives.
- Deliver on our VD commercial growth objectives; exceeding revenue and share of critical metrics (including sales revenue, volume sales, share of SEUK business, premium growth and profitability)
- Analyse key VD competitor proposition developments; benchmarking vs our own proposition
- Develop and implement the VD Commercial Strategy for D2C; driving Premium Market share
- Optimise VD profitability, tailoring VD D2C proposition to deliver acquisition / retention targets
- Develop deep understanding of ecommerce levers behind VD commercial success; including traffic, conversion, av. Items per basket, AOV, stock availability and aged stock to optimise growth.
- Deliver improved sales deduction/return on investment; identify incremental sales opportunities to profitably grow VD category for Samsung D2C.
- Ensure strategy can be credibly delivered, with a clear delivery roadmap, plans and effective governance to ensure continual improvement.
- Develop deep understanding of our VD D2C consumer; identifying differences between customer cohorts across our full product mix (OLED, Neo-QLED, Lifestyle and UHD products).
- Ensure proposition roadmap delivers both new customer acquisition and increases LTV from D2C customer base; stimulating desire to upgrade, and cross-sell across One Samsung Product Ecosystem.
- Input new business and innovation requirements into the CE Commerce VD team to ensure we maintain a roadmap of innovation that enhances our overall customer offering
- Be able to confidently articulate and back up trading direction with data; to build a sustainable long-term VD business.
- Incorporate divisional priorities into overarching D2C Strategy; developing activities and pilots for adoption by D2C Commercial, Marketing and Onsite teams to enhance Premium Sales and Profitability.
- Collate, summarise and share results from pilot activities, to evolve and improve execution for future roll-out and expansion
- Extensive e-commerce experience; ideally gained within a Commercial e-commerce role
- Demonstrable experience in building a commercial strategy to deliver both revenue and profit
- Experience working in and leading cross-functional teams
- Strong strategic, analytical and commercial competence
- Successful influencer with natural gravitas; excellent communication skills
- Self-motivated, driven, creative problem solver and very resilient
- Very strong resilience capability
- Establish VD DTC team as a solid, profitable, top 3 x retailer to the business
- Achieve revenue/SOB (15% for TV)/Profit target within the first 6-12 months
- Analysis of daily/weekly performance and identification of performance gap vs target (forecast) : working with commercial managers
- Identifying our performance gaps alongside competitors and develop timely recovery plans to report to line manager – working with data, business planning manager
- Develop weekly (tactical) / monthly /quarterly commercial plans and presenting back
- Fully comprehend division’s weekly/monthly proposition and develop optimal execution/extra unique DTC execution/further proposition
