Integral to the musical training we offer is the opportunity to perform; in an average year, the Academy runs a programme of around 500 events.
We are seeking an experienced Head of Psychological Support Services to lead our team of Counsellors and to develop our capacity to support mental health needs within the Academy. You will also lead, support and directly contribute to a confidential, professional and specialist support service to both students and staff, and offer consultation at all levels.
The role involves balancing direct clinical work with the managerial and will take the Academy’s professional lead in matters relating to support and wellbeing with an emphasis on early first assessment of the individual needs of those seeking help through the service. Key areas are the oversight and delivery of its Counselling Service; oversight mental health support (including Mental Health First Aiders). and support for students with specific learning needs; within the context of short-term provision (6-12 sessions) in the learning environment of a premier specialist vocational institution.
