The Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and inspirational Head of Psychology and Sociology to lead our successful and dedicated department. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality education, fostering a love for these subjects, and ensuring students achieve their full potential. You will play a key role in curriculum development, staff mentoring, and driving forward innovative teaching practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Psychology and Sociology department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement an engaging and challenging curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress and achievement of students, implementing strategies for improvement where necessary.
- Provide professional development and support for departmental staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues to promote interdisciplinary learning and enrich the overall educational experience.
- Ensure compliance with school policies and procedures, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of educational developments in Psychology and Sociology.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting student well-being and engagement.
Requirements:
- A degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and substantial teaching experience.
- Proven track record of achieving excellent academic results.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in a departmental or similar role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students and staff.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for innovative teaching practices.
