Our client is a Yorkshire based premium food business, that produces the finest quality private label products with some of the biggest UK retailers. Whilst the business is in its infancy, the company has doubled its turnover over the last 2 years with this projected to continue through to 2025.
Overview of the Job
Our client is seeking a Head of Sales to join their team. This is a growth role and requires someone with strong account management experience with an entrepreneurial outlook to deliver on further business opportunities within the grocery, discounter, wholesale or foodservice space. The export market is also of interest. This is a high ceiling role with the business scaling at pace.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand the company's customer base
- Lead and manage the sales team to achieve targets
- Identify new market opportunities and build relationships with potential clients
- Regular meetings at customer Head office
- Oversee the export sales operations and ensure compliance with international regulations
- Analyse sales data and create reports for management review
- Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to align sales strategies with product offerings
Skills
- Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities
- Proven track record in retail sales and account management
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in sales analytics and reporting
- Ability to develop and implement strategic sales plans
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business or equivalent
- Food industry experience, preferably meat but not essential
- Experience in sales and business development, particularly in both export and retail sectors
- Strong network and connections in the industry
- Ability to travel as required
