Summary of Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Sales (Training Division) to join our Training department based in Cardiff.
To support the strategic ambition of developing our training offering, and scoping future opportunities, through influencing and developing the quality and attractiveness of training products and services. To ensure a cohesive, consistent, and efficient national operation that meets learner, customer, partner and regulator’s expectations.

Main Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction, leadership and continuous development of the training function.
- Oversee, coordinate and direct the activities of any training services providers and/or consultants who are engaged by the company.
- Identify and exploit opportunities to access relevant funding streams in order to maximise opportunities for delivery of training to customers.
- Maximise the business development opportunities and generation of Sales leads to ensure the professional, profitable, and successful delivery of market-leading commercial training. programmes in order to achieve budget and financial performance targets.
- Ensure that the activity of the training function is maximised from both an internal and external perspective.
- Lead and develop national projects and initiatives to ensure high efficiency, technological and process improvement, and highly effective services.
- Monitor, measure and evaluate success of training courses and deliverables, to demonstrably meet regulator, customer, and internal standards.
- Lead on quality standards and provide relevant reports, implement improvements, and provide recommendations and proposals to the senior leadership team.
- Provide subject matter expertise in programme delivery, quality, content, and capacity building.
- Identify and prioritise new training capabilities and manage the projects to deliver them.
- Lead the conception, design, development, planning, delivery, and evaluation of the effectiveness of the training solutions.
- Identify, secure, and manage the facilities, process, system, and financial resources required for the effective and efficient performance of training.
- Develop, motivate, and retain the people required for the effective and efficient operation of training.
- Be aware of leading edge thinking and practice in training and take the lead in introducing new ideas.
- Oversee all activities within the training function to ensure governance and compliance with both external requirement and internal company policies.
- Develop and maintain proactive and positive relationships with all key stakeholders within the company.
- Effectively manage, support, and encourage the training team to deliver department and organisational objectives.
- Collaborate in creating and implementing an integrated training plan for internal employees that adapts to changing requirements.
- Create training materials and programmes to address specific business objectives.
- Support the continuous analysis of training programs and make recommendations for improvements.
- Understand the impact of change and proactively identify new and improved ways of working.
- Maintain professional communication with internal and external clients and service users.
- Adhere to the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and communication with stakeholders
- Stay up to date with industry standards and incorporate best-in-class knowledge and tools into training deliver
Ideal Candidate
- Confident in delivering all aspects of training to diverse groups of various sizes
- Experience with managing online training platforms
- Demonstrable experience of achieving training sales targets
- Outstanding interpersonal skills that build relationships at all levels
- Significant industry experience
- A confident public speaker, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Experience of operating at Head of Training level
- Knowledge of, and experience of accessing training funding which may be available
- Project management experience
- Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Qualifications
- Educated to Degree Level (BSc/MSc in Human Resources, Learning and Development, Organisational Psychology or relevant field) or graduate calibre
- Full UK driving licence, with ability to travel
