Job Title: Head of Salesforce Platform

Location: Rhodes House in central Oxford, 2-3 days per week onsite

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full-time

Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 per annum

Reports to:IT Director

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Head of Salesforce Platform to join the Rhodes Trust. This role will own the development and delivery of clear and compelling Salesforce and data strategies across the Rhodes Trust and partner organisations.

The role

The Rhodes Trust made a strategic investment in Salesforce through a digital transformation programme to support scholarship application and selection processes, scholar support, volunteering, events and fundraising. Between the Rhodes Trust and partner organisations, Schmidt Science Fellows and Atlantic Institute the IT Department is responsible for the maintenance of three Salesforce orgs.

The role will be responsible for:

  • Partner with Product Owners and other stakeholders across the organisation to define and communicate the coherent Salesforce strategy for the Trust.
  • Support the development of business cases / justifications in line with the defined strategy. Set, agree and communicate project priorities and roadmaps with Senior stakeholders, product owners and the technical team.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to create and maintain roadmaps for future development of processes and systems, ensuring that roadmaps are developed and delivered for each of the three partner orgs.
  • Manage a portfolio of multiple projects and ongoing operation and support activities. Managing interdependencies, team resourcing and responding to any changes which may affect project or operational priorities.
  • Listening for, uncovering and resolving potential conflicts or disagreements about project priorities and technical or data approaches.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and support the Trust's Salesforce team in delivering support, maintenance, operational change and development projects.
  • Directly and through the team’s own activities, support and nurture the development of good practice and process in Business Analysis, Salesforce Administration, Development and Technical architecture.

Essential skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Significant experience setting, owning and leading the strategic development of a Salesforce org
  • Extensive experience as a Senior Salesforce Admin and/or Developer.
  • A proven influencer and communicator with excellent stakeholder, business relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • Experienced in business analysis and strategic planning, including requirements definition and business case production.
  • Experience managing a team delivering a portfolio of projects and initiatives; ranging from support and maintenance projects, through to the development of complex new or changed functionality.
  • Expert planning and organisational skills.
  • Experience managing and developing a team of Salesforce technical staff.
  • Ability to co-ordinate colleagues and contracted parties through expert leadership, motivation, teamwork, supervision and accountability.
  • Experience managing process improvements as a leader / team manager.
  • Strong Supplier management and financial skills.
  • Knowledge of core data protection / GDPR principles within a Salesforce / CRM context.
