As we look forward to celebrating our 150th anniversary in 2027, we remain focused on our fundamental purpose: to educate young people for life.We are seeking an outstanding, creative and motivated Head of St Leonards Summer Schools with excellent business insights to develop, build and lead our Summer School Programme. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, the Head of St Leonards Summer Schools will be a highly motivated, resourceful and entrepreneurial individual, responsible for the development, marketing, execution and development of inspirational, innovative and high quality academic and pastoral summer programmes that makes the best use of the School’s tangible and intangible assets and provides a targeted financial outcome for the School. Working closely with the various support functions and Commercial Enterprise team, the Head of St Leonards Summer Schools will be a key member of the management team, furthering the St Leonards Brand and engaging with a wide variety of Stakeholders to provide additional streams of income into the school, through Commercial means. St Leonards Summer Schools will be sector-leading, synergistic with its brand, ethos and values whilst enhancing its reputation and financial performance.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage all operational and day-to-day aspects of the Summer Schools ProgrammeLeading a team of EFL Teachers and staff to encourage, support, and challenge them to maintain and raise the high academic standards of St Leonards.Lead the delivery of a quality activities offering across a broad range of past-times including sport, music, drama, academia and leadership with a goal of maximising participation, team-building and enjoymentDevelopment of a 3-5 year business plan to ensure sustainability, growth and development of the Summer Programme and its brand. Further develop the strategic plan for the delivery of the St Leonards Summer Programme and include wider business opportunities for leadership and academic programmes. Identify and explore future opportunities for growth and expansion of the business including IB, sports and leadership packages.Whilst events, activities or camps are running, engaging with all relevant stakeholders on site to ensure a smooth operation and positive customer experience. Collaborating with key support personnel including the DFO, Commercial Operations Manager, Commercial Activities Coordinators, Estates and Facilities Manager as needed to create, launch and Administer the programme. Recruitment, induction and management of part-time residential support staff and specialist activity coordinators and providers.Acting as designated Child Protection Lead for all Commercial programmes, ensuring a safe and friendly environment for all participants in accordance with Scotland's Care Inspectorate compliance requirements and our standards of best practice. Further details and particulars of the role can be found in the candidate pack.Benefits include Generous remission on school fees for children of Staff. St Leonards Pension SchemeFree lunches in school restaurant during term timeCycle to work schemeEmployee Assistance ProgrammeAbout St LeonardsSt Leonards is a friendly and forward-looking independent, coeducational, boarding and day school situated on an historic campus at the heart of the university town of St Andrews.
