We are looking to recruit a dynamic, experienced, self-motivated senior manager to lead a highly regarded service within the education department.
The service is made up of a range of teams and interventions which serve some of the most vulnerable cohorts of children and pupils supported by the Medical Needs Tuition team, Re-engagement Unit, safeguarding in education officers, Gypsy Traveller officer, Pupils out of School team which covers elective home education, children missing education, exclusions and licensing, school Attendance duties, and a traded offer.
As well as providing leadership to these teams the post holder would also contribute strategically and operationally to the work of the local authority including acting as the key contact between the local authority, Ofsted and DfE around unregistered education settings, and work closely with schools.
We are looking for an appropriately qualified, clear thinking, child centred and insightful leader who is able to articulate and model clarity of purpose and is able to swiftly gain credibility with stakeholders as a result of appropriate and impactful actions.
